Mark Holmertz has over 31 years of financial services experience. He began his career in 1989 at Trustmark Insurance Company, where he progressed from programmer trainee to assistant vice president in Voluntary Products Systems. In 1999, he began his financial advisory career with American Express Financial. He has been with Inspirion Wealth Advisors since its inception in 2012. Over the past 10 years, Mark has had a strategic partnership with Richard Young to transition Richard’s clients into Mark’s practice. They continue to work together to bring in new clients.


Mark holds a BA in Computer Science from North Park University. He earned the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation in 1996, the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation in 1997, and completed the requirements to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional in 2002.


He has been married for more than 28 years and has one son.

  • What qualities of yours make you best suited to what you do?

    My calm personality helps me not overreact during times of market volatility.

  • What do you love to do outside of work?

    Participate in men’s Bible study, run and bike on Lake County trails, and spend time in Shell Lake, Wisconsin water skiing and jet skiing with my family.

  • What was the most influential book you’ve read and why?

    The Bible because it is still relevant today thousands of years after it was written.

  • What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

    I learned how to barefoot water ski as a teenager and can still do it today. I was a part of the North Park Men’s Basketball Team that won the 1987 NCAA Division III Championship.
