Mike Hazen joined Noah Seidenberg at Seidenberg Investment Group in 2004, after spending three years at a national investment firm. He works primarily with business owners and working professionals, providing comprehensive financial planning, including investment management, tax planning, insurance, and estate planning.


Mike is a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Engineering and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. He lives in Libertyville with his wife and 2 daughters and enjoys sailing and woodworking.

  • What do you enjoy most about wealth management?

    Educating clients and helping them meet their goals.

  • What’s the biggest challenge?

    Building trust and dispelling incorrect or incomplete information clients may have.

  • What do you love most about being part of Inspirion?

    I like the autonomy to run business as I see best, while having a solid support system behind me.

  • What qualities of yours make you best suited to what you do?

    I have been a small business owner and understand the challenges business owners experience. I've been through several market cycles and am able to think and plan long term.

  • What do you love to do outside of work?

    I love to watch my kids compete (soccer). I enjoy woodworking and still like to compete in short races (5k or sprint triathlons) now and then.

  • What was the most influential book you’ve read and why?

    Always liked The Great Gatsby as a lesson on the attraction and trappings of wealth. Hard not to be in awe of Louis Zamperini and his inner fight (Unbroken) — makes our daily struggles seem small. I read and re-read anything by Coach John Wooden — a very wise person and teacher.

  • What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

    I’m proud to have been an Army helicopter pilot. I once completed a marathon (finishing time intentionally not included!). I have great kids that are becoming great people.
